How often should I have my piano tuned?  

Once a year is usually enough to keep the piano on pitch. This means keeping the strings at the correct tension for the piano to sound its best . If you have more discerning ears and are using the piano a lot , more frequently is better. concert venues and recording studios will have their pianos tuned before each performance.  Generally, the more the piano is tuned, the more stable it becomes. There are exceptions - see climate and position questions.

What if my piano hasn't been tuned for years?
